How do you use Special Periods?
Special periods are useful for skipping specific times, such as summer holidays, and can be combined with other interval settings. For maintenance tasks that should only be performed while machines are operational, you can use interval settings along with exception periods to bypass certain times—like the four weeks of summer holidays
Create Special Periods
Log in to the administrative client
1. Go to Settings / System Settings / Jobs
2. Choose Special Periods
3. Click Add
4. Name the period
5. Enter a description
6. Enter the dates from and to when your period occurs. You can enter the dates directly or select the calendar function.
7. Click OK to save and close the period
Add the special period to your job
Log in to the administrative client
1. Find and open a recurrent job.
2. Press the text “This job is recurrent: 4 weeks after completed job” (Now the original job will open so we can change the settings for all instances not only for one.)
3. Side-click the Job interval field, select Edit
4. Select the tab Special Periods
5. Check the box: Recur jobs EXCEPT during the selected special periods.
6. Check the box for the special period you want to use, in this example we use Main Holiday
7. Notice that the name of the interval has changed.
8. Save and close the interval settings. (You should get a message telling you that this change will affect the instances, press Yes)
9. Go to the tab job instances and note that the jobs planned during the summer period have been postponed. (It may take a while for the update to appear)
Please note that editing a job interval affects all original jobs linked to the same interval based on an event.
