How do the selection time to order work?

In order for an item to be visible in the "Time to order" selection, one of the following three criteria must be met:

  • Below the order point (balance + order quantity < order point)

The item will be visible in the selection if the balance is below the reorder point. You fill in the reorder point manually and you can find it on the item card.

  • Reserved on jobs (Balance + Quantity Ordered - Reserved Quantity < 0

The item becomes visible in the selection if you add an item to a job so that it becomes reserved and the quantity you add is more than what is in the balance.

  • Requested by the user (manually requested)

The item will become visible in the selection if you click the "Mark as time to order" button located in the toolbar on the item card.

Reservation rules can also help you calculate when an item needs to be ordered. In system settings, you can set the status of the order that triggers the reservation and adds the item to the Time to Order selection.
