How do I set up auto-numbering?

In Maintmaster, many objects — such as items, spare parts, site objects, or persons — require a number. To simplify this process, you can enable auto-numbering. The easiest method is to use the List option, which lets you import numbers directly from Excel.

 

Steps to activate 

1. Log in to the Administrator client.
2. Go to Settings → System settings.
3. Navigate to the section where you want to apply auto-numbering.

  • Example: Items/Spare parts → Categories.
  • You can also use Categories for Site objects or Persons.

4. Open the category where you want to add auto-numbering and go to the Numbering tab.
5. In the Numbering type drop-down menu, select List. Copy and paste your number list from Excel into the field.
6. Click "Test configuration" to preview how the numbering will look.
7. When satisfied, click "OK".
8. Close System settings.

Your selected category now uses automatic numbering based on your list.
