If you need to add searchable information to specific cards and use that information for statistics or in selections, you can create custom fields, properties, on any card. These properties can contain various data formats, such as value lists, dates, persons, objects, and more. In this example you will create a property for classifying machines. The property will contain a value-list/drop-down with the values A, B and C.
This is how to create a new property:
1. Open "Settings -> "System settings"
2. Go to "Site objects" and "Categories"
3. Edit the category for production machines
4. Go to tab "Properties"
5. Click "Add"
6. Name your new property Machine class
7. Set "Data Type" to" Value List" (As you can see, there are a number of datatypes to choose frm)
8. Click "Add"
9. Enter "A" as text
10. Click "OK"
11. Click "Add"
12. Enter "B" as text
13. Click "OK
14. Click "Add"
15. Enter "C" as text
16. Click "OK" twice
17. Close "System Settings"
18. Open a production machine card
19. Choose a value for your machine in your new property
